Before and After Enlightenment
The Absolute Consciousness alone is our real nature said Ramana Maharshi. Only the Absolute truly exists, nothing else, said Nisargadatta Maharaj.
The cartoons below highlight the illusory difference between how it seems before enlightenment (with so many things to do and change to wake up) and how unnecessary all those worries were because we never were an individual in the first place. The cartoons expose the modern dilemmas that the seeker comes across on his journey to enlightenment, until both the seeker and the journey is discovered to be an illusion. Every obstacle that seemed to cloud our clarity is revealed to be a momentary trance made from the same substance we are seeking. Consciousness reveals itself to be the source and substance of everything and is the same conscious awareness which we experience even prior to saying ‘I am’.
You can change the use of the word Consciousness below to Awareness or Beingness or The Now or The Emptiness. Use the word that works for you.
